Hello Community and Staff,
We are quickly approaching my FAVORITE Holiday, Thanksgiving. I love Thanksgiving because it is the time of year when my entire family gets together at my mom's house and have the most wonderful dinner and fellowship. I really am looking forward to this time with my family.
Before Thanksgiving, we have a few things happening at Hall Fletcher that I want to tell you about. Tomorrow, November 18, 2010, we have our Holiday dinner in the cafeteria. Many parents will join us and I hope that you will join us too. Saturday we will have our Fall Festival from 12 until 4. I am looking forward to this because we usually have a Spring Fling and this is our first time in YEARS having a Fall Festival. Please come out and support our PTO. They have done a great job putting this together. If you see any of them, thank them (Bonita Gilchrist, Joyce Brown, Robert Hoke, Rebecca Harmon and our president, Cara Wilson)!
One more thing that we are so proud of is that Michelle Corral chairperson of our Green Team wrote a grant to purchase items that will help us save energy. SHE WAS REWARDED THE GRANT. Thanks to Mrs. Corral for her hard work. Thanks to the Asheville City Schools Foundation for awarding us this grant.
Please come join us at the Fall Festival and visit our school anytime. Also, respond to this post and tell us what you love about Thanksgiving.

What do I love about Thanksgiving? The food, of course. The food at Thanksgiving is comforting and tastes so good with the whole family. And maybe better than the food is watching the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade. It is a family tradition - always has been and always will be. There is nothing better than the smell of the turkey cooking and the parade on TV. Even though I am looking forward to the holidays, I still can't believe that they are already here. It seems like summer just ended. Happy Holidays to all! --Rebecca Shaw--
ReplyDeleteThanksgiving is also one of my favorite holidays! My family goes to my parents house and we cook all day, watch football, and play games. I'm super excited this year because it will be my nephews first Thanksgiving :)
ReplyDeleteHope everyone has a great holiday! Safe travels
Thanksgiving is one of my favs too. I love all the food and the beginning anticipation of Christmas. Thanks Dr. Witherspoon for the congrats on the grant. I hope this project will help us in our energy conservation:)--Michele Corral
ReplyDeleteI love Thanksgiving too. It reminds me of the trips my family used to make to Memphis every year to visit our grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins. Now it is a time to spend closer to home, sharing stories of Thanksgiving celebrations from years past. I wish everyone good times, good food, safe travels, and lots of love! I am so thankful for my Hall Fletcher Family.
ReplyDeleteLooking forward to a break. Hope everyone has a good time with family and friends.
ReplyDeleteDespite being a vegetarian, I love Thanksgiving. There are always yummy sides and plenty of bread to go around. I am going to miss being with my family this year. They are in Florida, and I'm not going to make it down. My favorite tradition is frying the main course. My whole family, all fifteen of them, gather in the driveway in tailgating chairs. We tell stories, have a few drinks and watch the turkey fry. Then we (they) enjoy a fried turkey and a traditional turkey prepared by my grandmother. I will miss them dearly, but for now, I'm just looking forward to some R&R.
ReplyDeleteCongrats to Michele!
Yay Michele! I don't really like Thanksgiving food, so we have weird things instead (like artichokes). I like seeing my family and sleeping in. I also like hanging out with my lil nephew because I am his favorite aunt.
ReplyDeleteI love Thanksgiving food. I only get to eat some of the items once a year!
ReplyDeleteI am sooooo... looking forward to my aunt's squash casserole! I've tried others, but hers is the best. My favorite part of Thanksgiving is spending time with family that I only see a couple of times a year. I hope everyone one has a fabulous holiday and a much needed break. :)
